Magic Bus UK partners with schools and sixth form colleges to bring our work to life for pupils, teachers and parents.
By joining the Magic Bus UK Schools Programme, your school will have the opportunity to connect and learn with communities and programmes in India throughout the academic year. We also offer unique opportunities to engage your pupils in cultural exchange, such as:
Arranging community visits and friendly sports matches with Magic Bus programmes in India around school trips.
A Magic Bus Ambassador holding an assembly, engaging pupils with interactive video games.
Video calls with our Youth Ambassadors and community programmes in India
An annual Magic Bus Sports Day at a leading UK venue, competing with other partnered schools for the Magic Bus trophy. Parents will be invited to join.
Our partner The Hall School’s cricket tour to Delhi in March 2023, meeting Magic Bus participants.
We encourage all schools who partner with us to pledge their support for Magic Bus, with pupils committing to fundraising for Magic Bus UK throughout the school year. The funds raised will directly benefit the young people on Magic Bus programmes that your school will have the opportunity to interact with.
£5000 (suggested minimum pledge) will fund the equivalent of 250 young people’s places on a Magic Bus programme for a year, having a transformative impact on so many young lives. We will support pupils with fundraising ideas and materials. Student-led fundraisers from our partner schools have included:
A Holi Colour Run
Curry Night
Talent Show
Diwali Party
Film Night
Sponsored Sports Challenges
Producing Branded Magic Bus Masks or Other Products to Sell
Teacher Testimonial
“It was terrific to partner with The Magic Bus, as part of our Cricket Tour to India. Parvati and Caroline were kind enough to come and visit the school, and deliver an enjoyable and powerful assembly to our boys, all about the important work the charity does. The content was delivered in a way the boys could understand, sensitively explaining the dangers children in India face every day.
Once we got to Delhi, we were so fortunate to visit one of their sites, where we met many of the children who live there, as well as getting to play in an incredibly enjoyable cricket tournament with them. To see the impact of the work The Magic Bus does, in real life, was really extraordinary, and something we will all remember forever.
All of this makes me so proud that as a school we were able to raise over £26,000, which I know will go so far to help hundreds of underprivileged children across India.”
