Fascinating discussion at event

Guests were treated to the views of authors Meera Syal CBE and Oliver Balch on the representation of India in literature in a panel discussion lead by BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty at Asia House last night [15th March].

The discussion kicked off with a question on whether the essence of India can ever truly be captured in writing and went on to cover ideas around stereotypes of India, writing about India for the UK audience and how changes in the country are being reflected in books.

Guests also heard from Parvati Pujari who joined the Magic Bus programme aged nine and now works as a training officer in Magic Bus' Mumbai programme.

Thank you to Naga, Meera and Oliver for giving up their time to support Magic Bus and to all the guests for attending and contributing to such a fascinating evening.
